Clouds. Clouds kept us closed for the first couple hours of the night. But we were promised clear skies, dang it! Clouds continued to roll in but started "thinning" and I opened when I could finally see Venus, which was at 19:56. We fought with clouds much of the night and a high haze was present even when things looked clear. NA01 was observing faint targets and, due to the clouds, donated his last 20min to AD02. AD01 struggled to observe their cold, chunky, carbonaceous chondrites through the clouds. The ARCTIC diffuser stopped rotating again when I tested it this morning and I updated yesterday's PR. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:56 ecamera 792( -632) 206 72 1.9 2.6 3.1 2.8 2.2 -- 1.43 22:26 ecamera 914( -540) 279 45 1.9 1.7 2.1 1.9 1.9 -- 2.27 23:13 arctic 854( 574) 220 67 1.4 1.4 1.9 1.6 1.5 sdss-r 1.64 02:04 dcamera 740( 291) -153 57 2.2 1.1 1.3 1.2 1.8 -- 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 38 17 16 244 (WSW) cloudy none 17:00 37 18 15 234 (SW) cloudy none 18:00 36 17 22 236 (SW) cloudy none 19:00 36 16 18 245 (WSW) cloudy none 20:00 36 15 20 234 (SW) cloudy none 21:00 35 15 15 265 (W) cloudy none 22:00 36 16 12 262 (W) cloudy none 23:00 35 15 16 292 (WNW) ptly cldy none 00:00 34 16 19 302 (WNW) mstly clr none 01:00 32 17 11 333 (NNW) mstly clr none 02:00 36 18 9 349 (N) mstly clr none 03:00 35 18 9 271 (W) mstly clr none 04:00 34 18 14 3 (N) mstly clr none 05:00 34 18 16 27 (NNE) mstly cldy none 06:00 34 20 12 311 (NW) ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
