We opened late because of clouds and also nearby radar, but managed to get some observations of Venus even so. The second program got a couple of spectra before the clouds closed in. I closed the dome(s) for a little while then reopened, only to have the clouds spring back so the observers struggled but didn’t have to stop. Then finally after 2 am the clouds went away and stayed away for the rest of the night, although seeing still wasn't so hot. The telescope and all four instruments used tonight worked well. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:21 ecamera 970( -577) -55 49 -0.2 -0.1 0.2 -0.1 -0.1 Clr 1.68 23:25 arctic 856( 490) 27 54 -0.2 -0.4 0.2 -0.1 -0.2 r 1.41 01:32 dcamera 808( 269) 231 72 -0.6 -0.7 -0.2 -0.5 -0.5 - 1.85 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 33 19 16 247 (WSW) 665 cloudy none 17:00 34 17 20 248 (WSW) 1395 cloudy none 18:00 33 16 17 268 (W) 1542 mstly cldy none 19:00 32 16 19 266 (W) 1386 ptly cldy none 20:00 32 15 13 264 (W) 1568 ptly cldy none 21:00 32 14 18 276 (W) 1478 mstly cldy none 22:00 32 12 16 289 (WNW) 1348 cloudy none 23:00 32 14 19 266 (W) 1075 ptly cldy none 00:00 32 14 16 269 (W) 2211 ptly cldy none 01:00 31 16 15 239 (WSW) 2168 ptly cldy none 02:00 30 16 17 264 (W) 1713 mstly clr none 03:00 30 17 20 265 (W) 843 clear none 04:00 29 17 18 257 (WSW) 797 clear none 05:00 29 16 12 254 (WSW) 723 clear none 06:00 28 16 16 247 (WSW) 642 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
