I guess we sang the song off key because we ended up bringing on the clouds. Clouds, clouds, clouds, all night. The virga was too close shortly after sunset and we closed for about half an hour. Seeing was moderate but it was a fight to get the photons to fall. AD02 had some luck with their observations but poor UW09 was observing faint stars and threw in the towel around 4:00am. We were all rather sad and dejected the whole night almost like we were...under the weather. The NA2 guider had an interesting problem tonight where it would not focus and gave the error: relPiston ... failed: Aborted; Actor='gmech'; Cmd='relPiston 1000.0' We tried a gmech remap along with a hub restart but neither helped. It was working fine at the beginning of the night. I sent a PR. ==================== Hal-y, Hal-y, quite contrary, Howell do your comets go? With silver tails and cloudy shells, …and all our heads hung in a row. :( ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:18 arctic 750( 490) 19 83 0.5 1.9 2.1 1.9 1.5 sdss-r 1.09 21:50 arctic 820( 501) -87 59 0.7 0.6 1.1 0.8 0.8 sdss-r 1.32 23:18 arctic 820( 497) 27 75 0.6 0.7 1.1 0.9 0.8 sdss-r 1.18 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 37 20 9 268 (W) 339 mstly cldy none 17:00 37 19 24 293 (WNW) 382 mstly cldy none 18:00 35 20 13 272 (W) 412 mstly cldy none 19:00 33 21 15 284 (WNW) 628 mstly cldy none 20:00 32 22 14 286 (WNW) 692 mstly clr none 21:00 33 21 12 283 (WNW) 837 ptly cldy none 22:00 33 22 18 300 (WNW) 1137 mstly cldy none 23:00 34 23 11 273 (W) 989 mstly cldy none 00:00 33 23 10 308 (NW) 964 mstly cldy none 01:00 33 23 7 320 (NW) 935 cloudy none 02:00 35 24 10 334 (NNW) 888 cloudy none 03:00 39 20 6 242 (WSW) 501 cloudy none 04:00 37 21 9 270 (W) 677 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
