Most of the flakes were moving sideways, and there was less than half an inch of accumulation by morning. Under that half inch of snow, however, was a half inch of ice. I did not run the snow program because the dome was struggling against the wind during test slews in the afternoon, so I just moved to a few different azimuth positions at times when the wind was lighter. Electricity was pretty steady all night, which was very nice. I worked on calibrations for NICFPS in grism mode, and methods for tracking contamination on DIS. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 28 26 23 87 (E) cloudy lt snow 17:00 25 23 36 75 (ENE) cloudy lt snow 18:00 23 22 31 74 (ENE) cloudy none 19:00 23 21 45 72 (ENE) cloudy none 20:00 24 19 29 68 (ENE) cloudy none 21:00 23 19 29 76 (ENE) cloudy lt snow 22:00 23 20 29 79 (E) cloudy lt snow 23:00 23 21 24 76 (ENE) cloudy lt snow 00:00 24 22 17 84 (E) cloudy lt snow 01:00 23 21 15 86 (E) cloudy none 02:00 30 30 21 132 (SE) cloudy none 03:00 31 31 22 145 (SE) cloudy none 04:00 32 32 21 142 (SE) cloudy lt snow 05:00 31 31 23 127 (SE) cloudy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
