Around 22:45 ARCTIC started to have a temperature issue. Per Russet, at 23:25 I changed setpoint from 186K to 188K then to 187K. We then had an upsed ion pump. I reset setpoint back to 186K, ion pump happier but temps still running around 190K. Russet suggested closing the stairwell door and turning off intexfan to try to retain a little heat on the intermediate level and make the cryrotigers a little happier, I also set the setpoint now to 185K. The temp near the cryrotiger was about 15F from the thermometer near them. about 02:15 the ARCTIC tems finally started dropping again. at 04:00 I reset the ARCTIC setpoint back to 186.0K as the cold head was condinuiing to drop and the ccd temps were back were they were prior. CCD Temps went back up slightly and then started dropping at a much slower rate and seemed to stabilize below the alert limit. All ARCSAT temps and ion pumps looked fine when I closed up for the night. Int. level enclosure temp was around 21F now. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:06 NICFPS 580( 317) -119 48 -12.1 -9.2 -7.4 -9.4 -11.6 H 1.60 19:22 NICFPS 534( 248) -120 45 -11.8 -9.8 -8.3 -10.1 -11.3 H 3.00 20:35 NICFPS 495( 152) -123 32 -11.6 -11.1 -10.1 -11.2 -11.3 Ks 1.50 20:37 NA2gdr 1961(49961) -124 31 -11.8 -11.1 -10.1 -11.2 -11.3 R 2.90 21:56 NICFPS 527( 128) -90 72 -11.3 -11.6 -10.9 -11.6 -11.4 Ks 1.07 22:44 NICFPS 529( 169) 180 55 -10.7 -11.1 -10.6 -10.8 -10.4 Ks 2.80 00:16 ecamera 405(-1292) 43 46 -10.9 -10.9 -10.4 -10.7 -10.8 ND2 1.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 13 11 6 357 (N) mstly cldy humid 17:00 12 11 8 6 (N) ptly cldy humid 18:00 11 9 5 5 (N) mstly clr humid 19:00 10 1 17 48 (NE) mstly clr none 20:00 11 -1 15 34 (NE) 307 clear none 21:00 11 0 18 358 (N) 356 clear none 22:00 12 -1 13 46 (NE) 275 clear none 23:00 13 -2 15 30 (NNE) 242 clear none 00:00 13 -3 13 3 (N) 227 clear none 01:00 12 -2 16 10 (N) 288 clear none 02:00 13 4 21 359 (N) 420 clear none 03:00 13 4 9 7 (N) ptly cldy none 04:00 16 5 17 32 (NNE) 280 clear none 05:00 17 8 10 30 (NNE) 211 clear none 06:00 17 5 15 33 (NNE) 246 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
