Bill and Ed got the tertiary mirror fixed by mid-afternoon. I was prepared for a possible change in pointing, but in fact it was excellent and didn't even need a tweak. Ecam needed a power cycle at the beginning of the night and showed horizontal trails from shutter lag in the first few exposures, but after that it behaved well (both shutter and readout) for thousands of images. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:28 dcamera 350( 452) 25 49 5.7 7.6 8.0 7.4 5.9 - 1.16 18:30 ecamera 288( -562) 176 63 5.6 5.8 6.6 5.6 5.4 ND3 0.87 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 46 25 16 251 (WSW) 1177 ptly cldy none 17:00 42 24 13 264 (W) 940 ptly cldy none 18:00 42 24 15 259 (W) 1085 ptly cldy none 19:00 42 25 20 268 (W) 1104 ptly cldy none 20:00 41 25 22 256 (WSW) 690 mstly clr none 21:00 40 26 16 258 (WSW) 695 ptly cldy none 22:00 41 26 21 273 (W) 619 ptly cldy none 23:00 40 26 17 283 (WNW) 415 ptly cldy none 00:00 39 27 10 283 (WNW) 519 mstly clr none 01:00 39 27 18 290 (WNW) 512 mstly clr none 02:00 39 27 22 295 (WNW) 607 clear none 03:00 39 27 24 268 (W) 579 clear none 04:00 38 27 26 277 (W) 567 ptly cldy none 05:00 37 27 25 282 (WNW) 501 ptly cldy none 06:00 37 26 26 289 (WNW) 530 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
