During first half we had nearby radar signals. Around the middle of the night the clouds thinned a little bit, but never better than borderline. Also in the middle of the night I discovered a stuck actuator on the tertiary mirror. I srtuggled with it for a few hours and then decided it was best left for Bill or Ed to work on. Then the clouds and radar got worse again. During the downtime, I made a new mask for the echelle slitviewer and worked on DIS spectrograph focus. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 47 21 5 190 (S) 523 cloudy none 17:00 46 19 7 186 (S) 538 cloudy none 18:00 46 20 6 183 (S) 435 cloudy none 19:00 46 19 9 181 (S) 456 mstly cldy none 20:00 45 19 6 180 (S) 451 mstly cldy none 21:00 45 21 10 171 (S) 386 mstly cldy none 22:00 45 20 9 174 (S) 461 mstly cldy none 23:00 45 18 8 179 (S) 439 ptly cldy none 00:00 45 17 10 181 (S) 556 ptly cldy none 01:00 45 19 14 179 (S) 934 mstly cldy none 02:00 45 17 13 178 (S) 661 mstly cldy none 03:00 41 20 9 198 (SSW) 947 cloudy none 04:00 40 22 7 189 (S) 1228 cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
