During the day, Bill re-leveled the telescope, undoing the changes from Monday night. I reverted the pointing model back to where it was last week and pointing was pretty good (even with APOLLO!) if not quite the best we can do. It can wait until the next observing time, so we won't need to pre-empt anyone. After that it was all clear sailing. The dcam shutter stuck open, but the ecam shutter behaved tonight. Last night it was the other way around. Go figure. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:32 dcamera 565( 581) 9 52 4.3 6.0 5.9 6.1 4.8 - 1.15 00:02 ecamera 388( -643) 40 47 2.2 2.1 2.8 2.2 2.2 ND2 1.12 05:49 APOLLO 400( 1030) 40 37 -0.3 0.2 0.9 0.4 0.3 530 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 42 -1 16 7 (N) 250 clear none 17:00 41 -5 12 18 (NNE) 234 clear none 18:00 40 -4 4 2 (N) 223 clear none 19:00 40 -4 9 325 (NW) 293 clear none 20:00 39 -6 7 272 (W) 286 clear none 21:00 37 -8 5 262 (W) 220 clear none 22:00 37 1 7 270 (W) 370 clear none 23:00 37 14 14 303 (WNW) 404 clear none 00:00 36 17 15 291 (WNW) 313 clear none 01:00 35 18 11 265 (W) 295 clear none 02:00 34 20 12 254 (WSW) 345 clear none 03:00 34 20 10 245 (WSW) 447 clear none 04:00 34 19 11 256 (WSW) 468 clear none 05:00 33 18 8 258 (WSW) 500 clear none 06:00 31 18 1 225 (SW) 419 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
