And then when we got on sky I realized I had just accidentally fixed the pointing problem that started last Friday - except now I had to undo all the workarounds that we had put in place to deal with that problem. Fortunately I was able to get pointing re-restored by the time it was dark enough to focus, and no time was lost. After that, everything went beautifully, with clear skies and good seeing and no problems. Even ARCSAT was delivering science. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:25 arctic 561( 646) -63 35 4.1 4.2 4.4 4.0 4.0 SDSS_r 1.02 00:38 ecamera 240( -767) 29 51 2.9 2.7 3.2 2.4 2.4 ND1 1.18 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 38 5 3 243 (WSW) 864 clear none 17:00 38 6 0 60 (ENE) 857 clear none 18:00 40 -6 8 39 (NE) 159 clear none 19:00 42 -1 4 178 (S) 474 clear none 20:00 42 4 4 184 (S) 684 clear none 21:00 41 -1 5 186 (S) 357 clear none 22:00 40 -2 6 197 (SSW) 377 clear none 23:00 41 -3 5 203 (SSW) 222 clear none 00:00 37 -9 5 348 (NNW) 103 clear none 01:00 40 -7 5 263 (W) 137 clear none 02:00 38 -7 2 317 (NW) 105 clear none 03:00 38 -8 10 306 (NW) 98 clear none 04:00 38 -8 12 301 (WNW) 52 clear none 05:00 38 -2 10 303 (WNW) 27 clear none 06:00 37 14 13 342 (NNW) 35 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
