Unfortunately, we had some issues when we switched to the echelle and it took us about 30 min to get the pointing offsets done well enough to where we could find NM05's target. However, UW06 was gracious enough to offer some of their time and we were able to take an exposure for NM05. We had some light clouds at the beginning of the night which just became worse and worse. UW06 threw in the towel at 05:23 when things were getting too thick to guide. ---Dome doors--- During opening, the left door made 7 soft knocks and the right door made a soft groaning. During closure, the left door only made three soft knocks but the right door was groaning louder. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- NM05 E T/H 00:10 00:31 Pointing problems ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:31 dcamera 320( 314) 14 51 2.9 5.5 5.0 5.2 3.4 -- 1.26 18:48 dcamera 415( 331) 269 61 3.8 4.2 4.2 3.8 3.8 -- 1.04 00:21 ecamera 346( -624) 38 48 4.1 3.4 4.2 3.6 3.3 clear 1.31 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 -2 6 247 (WSW) 223 mstly clr none 17:00 38 -2 1 340 (NNW) 277 mstly clr none 18:00 40 -2 1 296 (WNW) 222 ptly cldy none 19:00 40 -6 10 57 (ENE) 108 ptly cldy none 20:00 39 -7 1 199 (SSW) 83 ptly cldy none 21:00 40 -4 3 196 (SSW) 41 ptly cldy none 22:00 40 -7 2 186 (S) 81 mstly cldy none 23:00 39 -4 2 205 (SSW) 20 mstly cldy none 00:00 40 -5 2 238 (WSW) 23 mstly cldy none 01:00 37 -8 2 242 (WSW) 29 mstly cldy none 02:00 37 -9 7 274 (W) 16 mstly cldy none 03:00 37 -9 7 342 (NNW) 25 mstly cldy none 04:00 34 -11 2 341 (NNW) 15 mstly cldy none 05:00 38 -8 10 352 (N) 23 mstly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
