Seeing was terrible with winds from the east. Sometime around 22:00 winds shifted west and seeing improved. Clouds began to thicken around this time, though. At 00:18 ecam shutter started acting up, showing horizontal streaks on stars. Around 03:00 we also started getting vertical lines/gradient on longer exposures (>15 seconds). Weather held up through the dawn, everyone got their full times on the 3.5. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:19 dcamera 388( 482) 125 60 6.2 7.7 7.9 7.5 6.7 -- 2.05 19:14 ecamera 438( -509) -21 39 0.6 3.7 4.6 2.8 1.4 clear 2.80 21:53 ecamera 276( -735) -48 80 3.0 0.7 1.3 0.4 2.2 clear 1.70 23:10 ecamera 432( -593) -35 73 4.9 2.6 3.4 3.0 4.2 clear 0.89 01:46 ecamera 320( -641) 182 37 5.0 3.4 4.1 3.3 4.1 clear 1.19 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 45 9 5 88 (E) 665 mstly clr none 17:00 44 8 1 162 (SSE) 712 mstly clr none 18:00 34 22 14 77 (ENE) 1547 mstly clr none 19:00 32 21 14 76 (ENE) 1267 mstly clr none 20:00 30 22 14 63 (ENE) 1058 mstly clr none 21:00 37 9 1 259 (W) 639 ptly cldy none 22:00 41 2 3 257 (WSW) 445 ptly cldy none 23:00 40 6 5 252 (WSW) 541 ptly cldy none 00:00 42 3 3 251 (WSW) 467 ptly cldy none 01:00 40 7 1 226 (SW) 631 ptly cldy none 02:00 41 5 3 244 (WSW) 552 mstly clr none 03:00 41 5 8 239 (WSW) 589 mstly clr none 04:00 41 7 6 254 (WSW) 670 mstly clr none 05:00 40 8 8 235 (SW) 783 mstly clr none 06:00 40 8 7 247 (WSW) 709 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
