There was a well-timed break in the clouds around sunset, so we attempted an opening. We were able to stay open well into the first half, since the observer's targets were bright and we could pierce the clouds. By 00:40, rain was getting too close, and we closed the dome. Rain hit at 01:30. The rain began to turn to light sleet/snow around 04:00. We called it a lost night shortly thereafter, and did not open again. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:28 ecamera 388( -226) 17 46 7.7 10.3 10.4 10.6 8.5 ND4 1.15 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 49 24 12 232 (SW) 1315 ptly cldy none 17:00 48 25 10 195 (SSW) 1478 mstly cldy none 18:00 47 26 10 207 (SSW) 1473 ptly cldy none 19:00 46 26 10 199 (SSW) 1163 ptly cldy none 20:00 46 26 12 186 (S) 1067 mstly cldy none 21:00 45 26 13 183 (S) 1158 ptly cldy none 22:00 43 27 11 197 (SSW) 1294 ptly cldy none 23:00 37 26 9 181 (S) 1050 ptly cldy none 00:00 41 27 10 182 (S) 1399 ptly cldy none 01:00 41 28 10 182 (S) 1619 cloudy lt rain 02:00 39 27 16 213 (SSW) 1480 cloudy lt rain 03:00 36 30 6 109 (ESE) 1314 cloudy lt rain 04:00 38 31 17 236 (SW) cloudy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
