As night set in, there persisted a thin haze, and seeing was less than ideal. Absent any dangers to the dome, we stayed open. There was a problem during CU03's program, we lost contact with the NA2 rotator controller, image-taking had to be paused while problem was addressed. Seeing and transparency improved a great deal between 3 and 4. Clouds started coming in again around 5:00 but the observer was able to observe to the end. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- CU03 D T/H 23:16 23:28 rot controller needed reset ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:43 dcamera 850( 534) -30 48 1.6 3.4 3.7 3.1 1.3 - 2.60 19:32 dcamera 886( 520) 31 24 1.5 2.0 2.5 1.7 0.8 - 2.39 23:06 dcamera 691( 315) 77 46 2.5 2.2 2.7 2.4 1.2 - 1.96 04:41 arctic 765( 469) 180 60 1.9 1.1 1.6 1.2 0.6 SDSS-r 1.32 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 39 17 15 279 (W) 343 mstly clr none 17:00 37 22 15 251 (WSW) 424 mstly clr none 18:00 35 22 14 228 (SW) 544 mstly clr none 19:00 35 22 13 266 (W) 536 mstly clr none 20:00 36 20 14 247 (WSW) 395 mstly clr none 21:00 38 16 15 264 (W) 301 mstly clr none 22:00 37 15 12 257 (WSW) 277 mstly clr none 23:00 35 15 14 266 (W) 259 mstly clr none 00:00 34 15 12 267 (W) 275 mstly clr none 01:00 35 15 11 264 (W) 301 mstly clr none 02:00 34 15 11 266 (W) 310 clear none 03:00 35 15 10 253 (WSW) 247 clear none 04:00 35 14 14 237 (WSW) 204 clear none 05:00 36 14 14 239 (WSW) 267 ptly cldy none 06:00 36 15 14 252 (WSW) 293 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
