We could not. We thought we could stay open. We dared not. We thought things might get better. They did not. We thought the winds wouldn't reach 60mph. They did. We thought the power was sure to go out. It didn't! We thought there was hope for tomorrow. We shall see... Wind had us close up after only 1.3hrs. We didn't even get data, just ran the focus script through various filters hoping the wind would die down. Winds reached 62mph but there wasn't one hiccup in power! Humidity and clouds hit after 3am. I called it a wash at 4am when the freezing fog rolled in. No problems tonight ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:16 arctic 936( 672) 99 81 1.3 1.9 2.1 1.8 0.8 sdss-r 1.26 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 38 23 23 260 (W) 330 clear none 17:00 36 21 22 237 (WSW) 295 clear none 18:00 35 19 30 245 (WSW) 379 clear none 19:00 36 22 36 227 (SW) 545 clear none 20:00 36 22 27 232 (SW) 1048 clear none 21:00 35 24 38 229 (SW) 589 clear none 22:00 35 21 56 206 (SSW) 335 ptly cldy none 23:00 34 25 40 224 (SW) 328 ptly cldy none 00:00 32 25 43 236 (SW) 362 ptly cldy none 01:00 31 24 37 236 (SW) 376 mstly cldy none 02:00 30 24 28 236 (SW) 549 mstly cldy none 03:00 28 22 38 245 (WSW) 380 cloudy none 04:00 28 24 41 267 (W) cloudy fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
