The edge of the big storm hit us today and it will be worse tomorrow. However, we were able to use the engineering time to check focus and contamination on DIS. Contamination is present on the red chip (as expected) but is not bad. We slightly refocused the blue side. Aside from the looming snow storm keeping us closed up, no problems tonight. ====== Crystal water comes at dark Where ere it's presence leaves it's mark And boiling currents pound like drums When something wicked this way comes... A presence dark invades the air And gives the obs specs ample scare Stratus rains and precip fills the air When something wicked this way comes... Ill winds mark it's fearsome flight, And all the branches creak with fright. The landscape turns to frozen crumbs, When something wicked this way comes... ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 47 18 10 189 (S) 187 cloudy none 17:00 46 9 16 173 (S) 124 cloudy none 18:00 44 12 17 179 (S) 220 cloudy none 19:00 43 16 16 154 (SSE) 206 cloudy none 20:00 43 12 14 153 (SSE) 193 cloudy none 21:00 44 13 21 128 (SE) 352 cloudy none 22:00 45 19 18 173 (S) 698 cloudy none 23:00 43 22 23 150 (SSE) 919 cloudy none 00:00 42 28 17 137 (SE) 1329 cloudy none 01:00 44 21 27 127 (SE) 839 cloudy none 02:00 42 23 20 138 (SE) 985 cloudy none 03:00 40 30 26 144 (SE) 1788 cloudy rain 04:00 39 32 20 152 (SSE) 2388 cloudy rain 05:00 38 32 22 147 (SSE) cloudy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
