That lasted about an hour and the humidity spiked again with fog forming on us. Humidity dropped below closure limits but it was very wet outside and I decided to wait a little longer than usual to make sure it stayed below the limits. AD02 would not have enough time to get anything useful after 01:20, so they gave their remaining time to the next program (if we were able to open before the next program started, which we did at 01:40). I counted 0.5 hrs under AD02 time since they donated the time to the next program. Since the humidity was relatively high (and high in the dome) I left the fans in the normal closed configuration (hence the high focus values tonight) Humidity shot back up at 02:00 and we closed again. We re-opened at 02:40. 02:54 - 03:08 Telescope lost star while tracking/guiding (I think we may have ran over a moth which caused a drive slip). See ecam image 144. I had the observer reslew to their target and no star was found. I slewed to nearby Feige 110 and again no star in the field. I then made a large slew in alt/az, to allow the drives to go past a few magna sensors, and back to Feige 110 and the star was there. Below is the approx time the problem occured. Nothing was noticable on the Status to indicate that the drive slipped and/or lost position. 2016-09-09 08:54:26 UW06.Charli.ecam 47663 ecamera : camFile=/export/images/ecam/UT160909/e0144.fits 2016-09-09 08:54:32 .tcc.0 0 tcc i TCCPos=316.685592,39.669454,nan; AxePos=316.685505,39.669784,nan; No other drive problems for the rest of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- UW06 E T/U 02:54 03:08 Drive slip, lost position.
