We opened on time and had fantastic seeing, 0.5"! The Pillar of Life never looked so good! However, amazing as it was, the humidity kept creeping up and we had to close at 22:36. Shorly after, a rain storm hit and we remained closed the rest of the night. While the telescope was closed, we zeroed the NA2 rotator and analyzed the contamination on the DIS red chip. It has not improved but it has not become any worse. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:59 arctic 1001( 1516) 7 43 15.1 16.7 17.9 16.5 15.9 UNM-657 0.57 19:20 arctic 1001( 1489) 1 44 14.9 16.2 17.7 15.9 15.7 UNM-657 0.69 20:11 arctic 1071( 1516) -16 43 14.5 15.3 17.4 15.1 15.0 UNM-657 0.81 20:44 arctic 1096( 1523) -26 40 14.3 14.9 17.2 14.7 14.6 UNM-657 0.85 21:02 arctic 1131( 1549) -31 38 14.2 14.7 17.1 14.6 14.5 UNM-657 0.78 21:56 arctic 981( 1374) -45 30 13.9 14.1 16.0 14.1 13.9 CU-SII 1.17 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 64 50 12 208 (SSW) ptly cldy none 17:00 63 51 9 187 (S) ptly cldy none 18:00 63 51 18 201 (SSW) mstly clr none 19:00 61 51 8 161 (SSE) mstly clr none 20:00 59 50 18 144 (SE) clear none 21:00 58 50 18 142 (SE) clear none 22:00 58 51 22 143 (SE) clear none 23:00 57 53 22 142 (SE) mstly clr humid 00:00 56 54 23 139 (SE) mstly clr humid 01:00 56 53 23 155 (SSE) ptly cldy rain 02:00 56 53 17 179 (S) ptly cldy rain 03:00 56 53 22 167 (SSE) mstly cldy rain 04:00 55 54 18 192 (SSW) cloudy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
