I power cycled the array and the pattern changed, but was still bad. Power cycled a second time and the pattern changed again (different) but still bad. I left things alone at this point. Skies started improving around 20:35, but we were seeing radar returns nearby to our SW that appeared to be moving in this direction so I opted to stay closed until the threats dissapated. ARCTIC Autofocus worked on the first try but hung the arctic camera the second time the script was ran (and afterwards). I used the instructions on the wiki (Failed to expose) to reset the camera, which worked. The failure seemed to occur when measuring the fit (it appeared to take an exposure). We left the intercom on to the observing cart (ext 130) to listen for the diffuser rotation whine, from the motor. We noticed that it may not start immediately but sometimes would start several seconds into the exposure. Sometimes the pitch changed as well (rotatin rate change?) No problems tonnight except for clouds ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:43 arctic 501( 1051) 80 75 14.7 15.8 16.2 15.8 15.3 sdss z 0.85 20:52 NA2gdr -383(33616) 77 77 14.6 15.5 16.0 15.5 15.1 clear 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 64 32 13 314 (NW) mstly clr none 17:00 64 34 6 340 (NNW) mstly clr none 18:00 64 38 6 285 (WNW) mstly clr none 19:00 63 37 5 334 (NNW) mstly clr none 20:00 61 36 5 348 (NNW) mstly clr none 21:00 61 35 8 1 (N) mstly clr none 22:00 61 32 10 34 (NE) mstly clr none 23:00 62 32 14 55 (NE) clear none 00:00 61 32 11 46 (NE) clear none 01:00 62 32 14 68 (ENE) clear none 02:00 61 35 10 83 (E) clear none 03:00 60 38 5 106 (ESE) ptly cldy humid 04:00 51 49 26 73 (ENE) cloudy humid 05:00 44 44 26 86 (E) cloudy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
