However, while it stayed dark, it did not stay stormy. We were able to open at 22:13. Bring on the comets! Sadly, we were forced to close at 23:16 due to approaching clouds with questionable motives. We reopened at 00:42 and remained opened the rest of the night. While there were several instances of clouds crossing the basin and attempting to ascend our summit we, like Caradhras, defeated them. Seeing was moderate all night. No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 21:43 arctic 475( 1009) 6 34 13.4 16.8 17.5 16.7 15.5 sdss-r 1.18 23:49 arctic 550( 1045) -22 33 15.9 16.1 16.7 16.3 16.0 sdss-r 1.63 00:20 arctic 600( 1066) 130 45 15.3 15.8 16.3 15.8 15.6 JC-R 1.62 00:47 arctic 660( 1105) 130 49 15.0 15.4 16.0 15.4 15.2 JC-B 1.30 01:06 arctic 650( 1080) 131 52 14.7 15.2 15.8 15.2 15.0 JC-R 1.60 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 67 47 6 92 (E) 1321 mstly cldy lt rain 17:00 62 47 12 249 (WSW) 1176 mstly cldy none 18:00 64 46 11 91 (E) 1355 cloudy none 19:00 62 44 11 114 (ESE) 1057 cloudy none 20:00 62 43 18 125 (SE) 1024 mstly cldy none 21:00 64 38 20 137 (SE) 694 cloudy none 22:00 63 44 12 160 (SSE) 1261 mstly clr none 23:00 62 44 1 129 (SE) 1546 ptly cldy none 00:00 61 46 16 121 (ESE) 2326 cloudy none 01:00 61 44 15 111 (ESE) 2421 ptly cldy none 02:00 59 45 10 89 (E) 2077 mstly clr none 03:00 58 44 8 107 (ESE) 2097 mstly clr none 04:00 56 45 5 97 (E) 1918 mstly clr none 05:00 57 44 7 112 (ESE) 1801 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
