However, the good luck turned as sour as the lemons in fridge. Radar, lightning, and clouds: the attack came upon us from all fronts. By the grace of Galadriel, we were protected in the eye of the converging storms for a time. But, like the Eye of Sauron, I did not trust this ring of clear sky I was offered. I closed at 20:51 when rain showed up on radar immediately to the south (spies of Saruman, I'm sure, as they moved fast and against the wind). Then came the humidity. Yet hope remained while the company (Y.Notsu, D.Ngami) stayed true. An amazing sucker hole burst forth! But am I a sucker?! ...yes, yes I am. We were able to stay open just long enough to take one 10min exposure before closing due to humidity. Sadly, we were not able to open the rest of the night and the quests for Kepler field stars and exoplanet transits were lost. No problems tonight. I expect there will be an amazing dawn rainbow for anyone awake to see it. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:36 ecamera 743( -20) 131 61 12.8 15.4 15.1 15.2 15.0 clear 1.04 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 60 46 19 214 (SW) mstly cldy none 17:00 60 49 9 195 (SSW) mstly cldy none 18:00 57 46 7 110 (ESE) mstly cldy none 19:00 58 46 2 152 (SSE) mstly cldy none 20:00 56 44 6 170 (S) mstly cldy none 21:00 55 40 7 185 (S) mstly cldy none 22:00 53 47 4 116 (ESE) mstly cldy none 23:00 51 48 1 316 (NW) mstly cldy humid 00:00 52 49 3 253 (WSW) mstly cldy humid 01:00 52 48 2 204 (SSW) mstly cldy humid 02:00 51 49 7 132 (SE) mstly cldy humid 03:00 50 49 2 148 (SSE) ptly cldy humid 04:00 51 48 1 176 (S) cloudy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
