We got our new Obs1 today and I was installing and checking software (and problems with it). Jon B needed to transfer over the user accounts as well. That and trouble shooting and trying to install all the pieces of software we need (and finding incompatabilities and work arounds took most of Jon's time). It was not ready for use yet tonight. Further software testing tomorrow as Jon gets more things installed for us. Clear sky for the first half. We did a large pointing model (I had Ted do it so he could learn what needs to be done). With the telescope tracking the nightlogfocus script worked properly. We next worked on an instrument block for ARCTIC. Clouds came in during the ring portion but we managed to get enough data to complete it. Russet then did darks while we waited out the clouds. re-opened around 04:15. A couple pointing checks with the Echelle, good. Then a quick check with Agile, good. Closed up at 04:50 since there were no remaining tasks that could be completed before twilight started. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:49 guider 601( 1231) 164 61 16.3 19.1 18.8 18.7 18.6 R 1.10 02:07 arctic 621( 1002) -20 56 14.8 14.3 14.8 14.1 14.1 JC-R 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 66 46 1 243 (WSW) ptly cldy none 17:00 68 44 1 219 (SW) ptly cldy none 18:00 66 44 2 93 (E) ptly cldy none 19:00 65 47 4 78 (ENE) ptly cldy none 20:00 63 50 6 90 (E) mstly clr none 21:00 61 48 8 99 (E) clear none 22:00 60 47 10 95 (E) clear none 23:00 59 46 12 113 (ESE) clear none 00:00 58 46 11 85 (E) clear none 01:00 59 48 11 131 (SE) mstly clr none 02:00 59 47 5 148 (SSE) ptly cldy none 03:00 58 49 4 111 (ESE) cloudy none 04:00 58 49 4 94 (E) mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
