It's all out war now!!! Around midnight the nasties came out in mass in the main ops building as well as the dome. I had 1 moth trap set up on the intermediate level and 3 on the observing level. I eventually had to move oe of the traps on the observing level into the main control room to get the little buggers! They are all over the ceilings in the main ops building as well. Ugh!!! Russet checked internal dis focus, looked good. Clouds and nearby radar kept us closed until 22:00, I opened and almost as quickly the clouds decided to re-appear. I closed at 22:20 due to threatening weather and nearby lightning again. It started raining around I finally opened around 01:30 to start ARCTIC focus script testing. Around 03:00 I started observing Abell 78 for Joe. I was not able to get all filters (Halpha) as it transitted and then I was limited on time after the transit before twilight. MSSSO V 120s & MSSSO B 180s were taken during the start of twilight at the end of the night. I could see sky levels increasing in both of them so they may not be useful. I did get all other filters and times, with the exception of Halpha. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 01:35 arctic 275( 875) 210 53 17.4 18.5 19.2 18.3 17.8 MSSSO R 1.10 01:47 NA2gdr -1030(36969) 212 52 16.4 18.1 18.9 18.1 17.2 clear 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 81 40 16 219 (SW) 1279 ptly cldy none 17:00 80 39 12 221 (SW) 1213 ptly cldy none 18:00 77 37 7 222 (SW) 1199 ptly cldy none 19:00 76 37 14 240 (WSW) 1254 ptly cldy none 20:00 72 37 8 224 (SW) 1369 ptly cldy none 21:00 70 37 4 237 (WSW) 1367 ptly cldy none 22:00 70 41 16 143 (SE) 1274 ptly cldy none 23:00 69 41 17 151 (SSE) 1334 ptly cldy none 00:00 68 40 17 156 (SSE) 1238 ptly cldy lt rain 01:00 64 44 17 147 (SSE) 2585 ptly cldy none 02:00 64 44 18 128 (SE) 2452 clear none 03:00 62 42 9 114 (ESE) 2456 clear none 04:00 60 45 13 85 (E) 3171 clear none 05:00 57 46 23 67 (ENE) 3744 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
