Clear and a little windy but no dust. Seeing was excellent and subarcsecond for most of the night. UW01 was observing a planetary transit and did not need to observe past 04:18. so he stopped (I listed the remainder of the time as Not Used, but I'm not sure if that is correct). I couldn't let such a perfectly good, dark, clear, calm sky go unused! Thus, I invoked the law of Hey, Don't Waste That! and tried to conduct some of my own observations. Sadly, my lady Venus was not up neither was Mercury or Jupiter, Mars was moving too slow to produce enough of a Doppler shift for my needs and I just couldn't think of any observations I wanted for Saturn. In the end, Patrick was able to use the time to observe some stars. Which is cool...I guess. I tried to sucker a one bottle wine fee for my observing assistance but he was having none of my tomfoolery. I listed him in the Schedule time even though he was technically not scheduled (also not sure if I'm doing that correctly). No problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:24 arctic 632( 806) 86 59 9.0 10.2 9.9 10.0 9.7 sdss-r 0.80 21:32 arctic 535( 583) 19 83 7.7 8.0 8.4 7.8 7.5 sdss-r 1.20 00:13 AGILE 535(-1617) 113 46 7.7 7.6 8.1 7.8 7.5 SDSS-r 1.20 02:45 AGILE 525(-1684) 117 75 7.4 6.8 7.3 6.8 6.7 SDSS-r 0.70 03:37 ecamera 519( -700) 127 78 7.5 6.6 7.2 6.6 6.5 Clear 0.90 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 52 22 21 283 (WNW) 733 clear none 17:00 52 22 11 264 (W) 711 clear none 18:00 52 23 17 276 (W) 702 clear none 19:00 53 22 13 263 (W) 666 clear none 20:00 49 22 13 253 (WSW) 804 clear none 21:00 46 22 21 242 (WSW) 890 clear none 22:00 46 22 22 245 (WSW) 882 clear none 23:00 46 24 14 262 (W) 843 clear none 00:00 46 23 13 296 (WNW) 919 clear none 01:00 47 23 22 287 (WNW) 977 clear none 02:00 46 24 12 267 (W) 975 clear none 03:00 46 23 7 280 (W) 926 clear none 04:00 45 24 11 272 (W) 842 clear none 05:00 45 23 7 262 (W) 867 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
