She was going to try to clear them. We tried remapping gmech and ran into problems. After power cycling things and doing what the wiki told us we called Bill for help. We eventually figured it out (there was a slight error in the wiki). Russet homed the tert and sec mirrors to clear the full step errors from earlier. Since we were closed with limited in dome tasks I investigated the DIS slit wheel issue from last week. Here are my findings (nothing outstanding) I had no problem homing the E wheeel. I installed the B wheel and it also homed. I did notice that since I started near B1 (home) and DIS in TUI already thought the slit was at this position the wheel either didn't move or moved slightly when I issued the home. I wasn't quick enough to see it physically move and it wasn't that long of a move to actually hear it move either. WIth wheel B installed I repeatedly homed and then set the slit position to another position than home (B1) and homed again. It always homed correctly. I did notice the red LED light and stay lit right after I did a home with wheel B. This seemed repeatable. I think this is what Russet noticed. The LED when out when you moved (not homed) the wheel to any other slit position. I think the LED may have something to do with the hall effect sensor swiping across and triggering the switch, maybe? Ed would be a better person to ask. I re-installed wheel E and it homed fine. I did notice that this wheel made the motor sound different. Not sure why but it seemed like the motors sounded worse with wheel E tha wheel B. When I homed wheel E the LED on the hall effect did not stay lit (I did see it flash on and then off though). The magnet also was at a different position by the switch when at home than wheel B. I repeated moving to a different slit and homing wheel E and it seemed fine as well (other than the motor noises). I filled NICFPS around 19:45 and then again at around 02:00. Temps and ion pump were fine. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 47 34 13 107 (ESE) 798 cloudy rain 17:00 42 36 6 106 (ESE) 351 cloudy lt rain 18:00 38 36 14 37 (NE) 275 cloudy humid 19:00 43 34 17 177 (S) 424 ptly cldy humid 20:00 38 35 7 95 (E) 385 ptly cldy humid 21:00 39 34 10 112 (ESE) 700 ptly cldy fog 22:00 35 34 15 84 (E) 219 ptly cldy humid 23:00 34 33 16 89 (E) 528 mstly cldy humid 00:00 34 32 23 72 (ENE) 78 mstly cldy humid 01:00 35 32 13 85 (E) 167 mstly cldy humid 02:00 34 32 20 70 (ENE) 154 cloudy humid 03:00 35 32 14 81 (E) 130 cloudy humid 04:00 35 32 14 91 (E) 135 ptly cldy humid 05:00 34 32 16 80 (E) 1311 ptly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
