Mike Skrutskie then logged in to take some Jupiter/Io observations with TSPEC. Very successful!!! I then did some ARCTIC Fringe filter tests for Russet (start with image 4 in /ARCTIC_Fringe directory). These were taken in LL mode (see below) ARCTIC had a strange readout in quad mode. the upper left quad was much fainter then the other three quads. I sent a private email to Joe. see atest.0039-41. I did an init after exposure 39 and exp 41 was 5s instead of 60. I did find that after an arctic init the chip looks strange on the next exposure. Another exposure after shows the "missing" quad. I left ARCSAT in bypass mode so my observer could finish after SDSS closes their dome. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:02 arctic 655( 972) 125 68 9.3 13.2 12.8 12.8 11.2 sdss r 2.20 20:17 guider 634( 748) 83 59 8.1 9.1 9.8 8.8 8.3 R+ND2 1.80 21:46 tcamera 647( 742) 34 46 7.4 7.5 8.3 7.5 7.2 Ks 2.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 60 14 16 252 (WSW) 880 mstly clr none 17:00 60 16 15 257 (WSW) 803 mstly clr none 18:00 57 15 7 262 (W) 766 ptly cldy none 19:00 55 16 5 239 (WSW) 797 ptly cldy none 20:00 49 30 8 94 (E) 815 mstly clr none 21:00 47 31 15 80 (E) 831 clear none 22:00 46 31 15 88 (E) 857 clear none 23:00 45 31 16 76 (ENE) 811 clear none 00:00 44 32 11 88 (E) 889 clear none 01:00 45 32 13 88 (E) 971 clear none 02:00 44 31 10 82 (E) 943 clear none 03:00 45 31 9 90 (E) 1033 clear none 04:00 44 31 9 91 (E) 1190 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
