They became too thick to see even the moon. There was radar near by so we decided to close. I tried opening again before 5am but there was still enough cloud to keep me from focusing tspec. As the observer required at least one hour of observation I decided to give up at 05:10 when I was still unable to focus. There was a problem with the ARCTIC shutter and it needed to be reset. Once it was reset it worked fine. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- AD02 R I 00:22 00:42 Shutter restart ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:35 dcamera 464( 543) 54 53 10.3 11.2 11.3 11.0 10.4 -- 1.10 21:55 red_dis 414( 447) -13 64 10.9 10.5 10.9 10.6 10.5 CU6731 0.92 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 20 19 264 (W) 596 clear none 17:00 58 19 10 218 (SW) 617 clear none 18:00 58 21 20 216 (SW) 710 mstly clr none 19:00 54 19 21 231 (SW) 636 mstly clr none 20:00 51 17 17 208 (SSW) 733 clear none 21:00 51 17 9 213 (SSW) 813 mstly clr none 22:00 51 16 18 223 (SW) 919 mstly clr none 23:00 52 17 17 208 (SSW) 1120 ptly cldy none 00:00 52 17 15 223 (SW) 1197 cloudy none 01:00 52 17 15 211 (SSW) 1300 cloudy none 02:00 49 16 21 206 (SSW) 1086 cloudy none 03:00 48 15 19 199 (SSW) 821 cloudy none 04:00 47 18 18 253 (WSW) 911 mstly cldy none 05:00 46 20 17 256 (WSW) 827 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
