The clouds starting building after midnight and radar was showing precipitation appear quickly. Given the speed the precipitation was appearing on radar, I was overly cautious and closed at 00:28. We were able to reopen during an open patch of precipitation but then closed again at 2:54 when moisture was indicated on the radar. We were not able to open the rest of the morning due to rain. There was a Motion Error in the NE (az=107) during checkout but, aside from that, no problems tonight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:02 dcamera 682( 652) 121 61 5.3 9.2 8.6 9.1 7.5 -- 2.00 20:34 dcamera 432( 202) 210 71 3.4 5.4 5.6 5.1 4.2 -- 1.50 01:06 arctic 545( 416) -151 42 4.7 4.1 4.5 4.2 4.1 SDSS-g 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 26 9 262 (W) 189 clear none 17:00 52 24 4 244 (WSW) 145 clear none 18:00 48 22 8 233 (SW) 139 clear none 19:00 47 21 7 194 (SSW) 148 clear none 20:00 42 21 7 183 (S) 152 clear none 21:00 38 30 13 114 (ESE) 760 clear none 22:00 40 27 17 142 (SE) 591 clear none 23:00 41 24 13 138 (SE) 525 mstly clr none 00:00 39 21 10 178 (S) 555 ptly cldy none 01:00 40 22 18 139 (SE) 555 cloudy none 02:00 40 22 13 156 (SSE) 492 cloudy none 03:00 39 22 12 139 (SE) 553 cloudy none 04:00 42 20 12 242 (WSW) 520 cloudy lt rain 05:00 40 24 8 187 (S) 687 cloudy lt rain Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
