Noticed the pressure was reading the Max and in red. The temps all looked fine. It wasn't until around 04:00 when an email alerted that the Bench-FPA was at the max that I discovered the readout on the TUI NICFPS widget wasn't updating. Unfortunately we were now in the middle of observations using NICFPS. The temps were very slowly rising so I opted to wait for until the end of the night to see if I could tap on the ion pump to drop the ion gauge back to normal. It was rising at a rate of about 1C/hr. 'nicfps status' allowed me to refresh the TUI display of the temps. My 2nd half observers internet connection went down. Luckily she had a sequence going with a lot of exposures so no time was lost. I wrapped on the ion pump in NICFPS once my observer finished. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:40 ecamera 602( -384) 215 81 10.2 11.2 11.1 10.9 10.3 ND5 0.65 00:41 NICFPS 541( 1001) 104 68 8.9 9.1 9.7 9.2 8.8 Ks 0.85 00:44 NA2gdr -3001(39998) 104 69 8.7 9.1 9.7 9.2 8.9 clear 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 55 15 12 214 (SW) 465 clear none 17:00 53 12 16 222 (SW) 630 clear none 18:00 50 11 18 199 (SSW) 706 clear none 19:00 51 12 18 196 (SSW) 699 clear none 20:00 51 10 21 191 (S) 706 clear none 21:00 51 11 17 203 (SSW) 732 clear none 22:00 51 11 21 189 (S) 748 clear none 23:00 50 11 26 193 (SSW) 643 clear none 00:00 49 10 25 203 (SSW) 640 clear none 01:00 47 9 18 206 (SSW) 688 clear none 02:00 47 11 21 203 (SSW) 816 clear none 03:00 46 11 21 211 (SSW) 716 clear none 04:00 45 11 18 221 (SW) 809 clear none 05:00 47 14 18 256 (WSW) 857 clear none 06:00 47 13 22 268 (W) 830 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
