Opening was never an option. I did some more tests of dark stability with ARCTIC, and also tested the shutter down to -8.2 C (the outside temperature got down to -11, but with the humidity I didn't want to pull outside air into the dome). I did not run the snow program because the dome had occasional difficulty moving under generator power, but I did change the dome's orientation to the wind a few times with deliberate slews to minimize drifting on the roof. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 16 14 39 273 (W) cloudy lt snow 17:00 16 14 30 268 (W) cloudy lt snow 18:00 16 14 26 265 (W) cloudy none 19:00 15 13 32 272 (W) cloudy none 20:00 15 13 31 274 (W) cloudy none 21:00 14 13 29 265 (W) cloudy none 22:00 14 13 25 264 (W) cloudy none 23:00 14 12 25 266 (W) cloudy none 00:00 14 12 17 254 (WSW) cloudy none 01:00 14 11 21 250 (WSW) cloudy none 02:00 14 11 22 268 (W) cloudy lt snow 03:00 14 11 16 268 (W) cloudy lt snow 04:00 14 11 14 263 (W) cloudy lt snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
