Clouds did not clear as much as forecasts promised, but we powered through it. Humidity began to rise around 19:00. It settled down again by 20:00, and conditions varied between partly cloud to clear through 23:00. Shortly after 23:00 cloud bank came through. Observer was unable to collect data, and we closed the dome so they could do cals. It began to clear again at 00:00, and the b-half observer was able to open on time, though clouds still plagued us. Twice the alt axis had a motor error, no moths could be found but we backed off and ran through it, no more than 5 minutes was lost. Moth was found and cleaned during the morning fills. We stayed open until dawn. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:44 dcamera 823( 319) 34 35 -0.4 -0.5 -0.1 -0.3 -0.2 - 2.42 01:12 dcamera 732( 211) -177 70 -0.2 -0.4 0.0 -0.1 -0.1 - 1.70 04:07 dcamera 720( 196) -3 58 -0.2 -0.5 -0.1 -0.2 -0.1 - 1.81 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 31 25 16 228 (SW) 970 mstly cldy none 17:00 31 24 21 234 (SW) ptly cldy none 18:00 31 24 15 233 (SW) 893 ptly cldy none 19:00 31 25 17 249 (WSW) 768 ptly cldy none 20:00 32 24 23 241 (WSW) 779 ptly cldy none 21:00 32 25 18 224 (SW) ptly cldy none 22:00 32 25 20 240 (WSW) 816 ptly cldy none 23:00 32 24 18 239 (WSW) 922 mstly cldy none 00:00 32 24 15 242 (WSW) 976 ptly cldy none 01:00 31 24 19 237 (WSW) 1098 ptly cldy none 02:00 31 21 19 263 (W) 1231 ptly cldy none 03:00 32 16 18 247 (WSW) 1046 ptly cldy none 04:00 32 15 11 267 (W) 927 ptly cldy none 05:00 31 17 22 241 (WSW) 1110 ptly cldy none 06:00 29 18 10 247 (WSW) 1336 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
