A ToO was initiated by UW01 for a nova UW01/R/D B. They were able to detect H-alpha emission even through the clouds and very bright near-full moon! UW09 was kind enough to donate some of their time to UW05 so they could do their science and there was much rejoicing! UV04 took a look at tspec, but it was misbehaving, as expected. I gave it a restart but it helped nothing. It took me a long time to get tspec properly mounted. The angle was off and the wrench to rotate the instrument was missing and I had to find a wrench that fit. But, in the end, we got it on Io just in time for the eclipse. There were thin clouds all night and moderate humidty but the seeing got down to near site limit! ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:34 dcamera 836( 613) 281 75 4.6 5.4 5.6 5.7 5.1 -- 1.43 22:14 ecamera 797( -593) 328 50 2.9 3.0 3.5 3.3 3.2 -- 0.85 00:47 ecamera 795( -629) 54 74 3.1 2.6 3.1 2.8 1.3 -- 0.70 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 43 28 16 266 (W) 540 ptly cldy none 17:00 40 28 17 268 (W) 489 ptly cldy none 18:00 40 28 19 270 (W) 404 ptly cldy none 19:00 39 28 19 275 (W) 410 ptly cldy none 20:00 38 28 25 284 (WNW) 414 ptly cldy none 21:00 37 28 22 278 (W) 268 mstly clr none 22:00 38 27 14 301 (WNW) 250 mstly clr none 23:00 37 28 20 278 (W) 174 mstly clr none 00:00 37 28 18 302 (WNW) 175 mstly clr none 01:00 37 28 19 309 (NW) 152 clear none 02:00 38 28 15 325 (NW) 141 clear none 03:00 38 28 17 310 (NW) 127 clear none 04:00 38 27 9 306 (NW) 86 mstly clr none 05:00 38 27 17 327 (NNW) 76 mstly clr none 06:00 39 27 16 309 (NW) 56 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
