It was becoming very sluggish and non-responsive. Rebooting fixed the problems. I also tried resetting TSPEC Leach controller. I was getting an error message about setting the PCI status bit, PCI board not ready" when I did a tspec init command. The Main leach controller was on, I power cycled it but I was still getting the same error message after. 2016-12-02 06:22:38 APO.APO-Jack 156 tspec f errorMessage="Problem Setting PCI status bit: PCI Board Not Ready To Process Commands." I fixed it (during our engineering time later tonight) by powering off the leach controller and then resetting the PCI card. This was my suspicion of what was hung from the original message. The echelle slitviewer did not want to change directly from ND2 to ND4 filter. I had to move to ND3, then to ND4 and that seemed to work. I tried the ND2-ND4 move 2 or 3 times, failing each time, before moving to ND3 then on to ND4. My user reported no further problems. After I reset the pci board, this fixed the above error but unfortunately TSPEC is still producing bad images. Russet got two solid runs with ARCTIC clamped and non-clamped for our engineering tonight. She will reduce tomorrow. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:44 dcamera 733( 289) -65 82 -1.2 1.2 1.1 1.4 0.0 -- 1.30 23:24 arctic 747( 412) -46 52 0.3 0.2 0.6 0.4 0.2 sdss-r 0.80 01:20 ecamera 810( -737) 61 42 0.1 -0.2 0.3 -0.1 -0.1 ND4 0.80 03:11 arctic 754( 399) 152 70 0.3 -0.0 0.4 0.1 0.0 sdss-r 1.10 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 36 6 9 262 (W) 672 mstly clr none 17:00 30 9 7 213 (SSW) 831 mstly clr none 18:00 30 9 11 237 (WSW) 938 mstly clr none 19:00 31 4 14 238 (WSW) 1055 mstly clr none 20:00 31 9 13 264 (W) 996 mstly clr none 21:00 33 17 16 257 (WSW) 1313 clear none 22:00 32 19 12 261 (W) 1423 clear none 23:00 33 20 19 238 (WSW) 1360 clear none 00:00 32 20 17 213 (SSW) 1393 mstly clr none 01:00 32 20 21 211 (SSW) 2021 ptly cldy none 02:00 33 18 19 204 (SSW) 1865 ptly cldy none 03:00 32 15 12 209 (SSW) 1326 mstly cldy none 04:00 33 15 16 208 (SSW) 1123 mstly cldy none 05:00 32 16 11 188 (S) 1254 ptly cldy none 06:00 31 17 9 202 (SSW) 1477 ptly cldy none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
