We attepmted to open and aim east, then dust counts went critical and we were forced to close. We did not open again until 20:46, being careful to aim east. After 22:00 dust levels returned to normal, but high winds occasionally hit us. NM01 was able to start on time. Winds died down, and the night from 1 am was (aside from bad seeing) a good night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:50 arctic 901( 926) 18 56 5.9 7.3 7.8 7.3 6.8 SDSS-r 2.86 22:00 dcamera 603( 353) -29 55 3.9 4.8 6.4 4.8 4.4 - 2.52 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 48 17 28 257 (WSW) 7616 clear dust 17:00 44 14 27 242 (WSW) 5579 mstly clr dust 18:00 42 13 22 253 (WSW) 9162 mstly clr dust 19:00 40 14 19 279 (W) 22761 mstly clr dust 20:00 39 11 26 268 (W) 4668 mstly clr dust 21:00 39 10 14 229 (SW) 4104 mstly clr dust 22:00 40 8 25 264 (W) 2187 clear none 23:00 40 4 19 297 (WNW) 1187 clear none 00:00 39 2 17 277 (W) 1211 clear none 01:00 39 -1 17 281 (W) 935 clear none 02:00 38 -3 14 290 (WNW) 1084 clear none 03:00 37 8 13 298 (WNW) 865 clear none 04:00 37 19 13 302 (WNW) 716 clear none 05:00 37 19 15 335 (NNW) 837 clear none 06:00 37 19 5 326 (NW) 680 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
