Seeing was around 1.3 arc sec at the start of the night. Winds out of the East and the seeing became worse and variable. By the start of second half is was 2.8 arc sec. As the cold front came in, temps dropped and seeing went south (4+ arc sec) Humidity started rising during 2nd half and eventually we needed to close around 03:20 due to humidity. Fog formed overhead shortly thereafter and kept us closed the remainder of the night. We gave up at 05:20. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:50 ecamera 786( -63) 91 62 12.3 13.8 13.6 13.4 13.1 clear 1.34 20:18 ecamera 761( -182) 242 51 11.8 11.8 12.4 11.6 11.6 clear 1.10 00:07 ecamera 789( -329) 226 19 7.2 7.8 8.6 7.9 7.7 clear 2.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 57 21 10 294 (WNW) 597 clear none 17:00 56 19 1 206 (SSW) 847 clear none 18:00 55 17 1 212 (SSW) 981 clear none 19:00 54 21 10 6 (N) 1436 clear none 20:00 55 12 10 20 (NNE) 1124 clear none 21:00 53 14 16 73 (ENE) 1468 clear none 22:00 54 7 16 74 (ENE) 1117 clear none 23:00 47 18 19 74 (ENE) 1910 clear none 00:00 47 23 21 77 (ENE) 2233 clear none 01:00 45 24 12 90 (E) 2456 clear none 02:00 39 26 24 73 (ENE) 2692 clear none 03:00 36 32 22 71 (ENE) clear humid 04:00 36 34 30 72 (ENE) clear fog 05:00 36 34 22 77 (ENE) clear fog Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
