No clouds, humidity, dust, or wind! We had good seeing all night and there wasn't a single problem. In fact, we may be on our way to solving the Tspec problem. After we left Tspec rotated upside down with the Aux tank plug removed yesterday, the Aux temp dropped and good images were taken. I rotated it right side up during afternoon fills and noticed the temperature start to slowly increase. I then inverted the instrument but left the Aux plug in and saw the temperatures start to decrease and level out to ~80.5K. I took the plug out during dawn fills at 06:30 to see if the temperature would come down further but not enough time has elapsed to establish if there is any additional improvement. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 17:55 ecamera 894( 90) 62 71 13.5 14.7 14.5 14.5 14.2 -- 1.00 20:22 ecamera 779( -117) 241 68 13.4 12.8 13.3 12.7 12.8 -- 0.85 23:16 dcamera 684( 828) 336 56 12.8 12.5 13.1 12.6 12.7 -- 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 63 44 19 223 (SW) 707 clear none 17:00 62 41 15 232 (SW) 676 clear none 18:00 60 41 20 236 (SW) 667 clear none 19:00 56 38 14 230 (SW) 684 clear none 20:00 56 36 17 221 (SW) 710 clear none 21:00 56 35 13 223 (SW) 733 clear none 22:00 56 35 16 229 (SW) 746 clear none 23:00 55 33 11 253 (WSW) 771 clear none 00:00 55 33 11 282 (WNW) 711 clear none 01:00 55 33 14 282 (WNW) 574 clear none 02:00 55 31 11 300 (WNW) 598 clear none 03:00 55 30 15 300 (WNW) 521 clear none 04:00 55 28 13 279 (W) 439 clear none 05:00 54 28 19 295 (WNW) 448 clear none 06:00 53 28 15 292 (WNW) 480 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
