Took 1500 darks We were not able to open tonight due to snow and strong winds. There were problems tonight: The telescope stopped unexpectedly while executing the snow program. Fritz restarted the TCC but, due to an error I made setting the instrument, the secondary became stuck. A PR was sent about this issue. The door to the outside catwalk was blown open at some point in the night but only a small amount of snow was blown in and nothing was damaged. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 27 10 30 255 (WSW) 368 cloudy none 17:00 28 13 25 255 (WSW) 3812 cloudy none 18:00 26 15 34 279 (W) 6415 cloudy none 19:00 25 15 17 269 (W) 1205 cloudy none 20:00 24 15 10 294 (WNW) 1793 cloudy snow 21:00 22 22 14 316 (NW) 2892 cloudy snow 22:00 22 21 3 344 (NNW) 9764 cloudy snow 23:00 20 19 14 11 (N) 2868 cloudy snow 00:00 20 18 21 1 (N) 365 mstly clr snow 01:00 19 18 24 6 (N) 6400 ptly cldy snow 02:00 18 17 29 25 (NNE) 123 ptly cldy snow 03:00 17 15 18 3 (N) 125 mstly cldy snow 04:00 19 11 29 16 (NNE) 165 mstly cldy snow Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
