While we were open, we were productive. Played with the new dcam. Fritz got the cooling fix worked out, we took new masks, and we tested limiting magnetudes. There is a fringing pattern that only shows itself when the background is high. Dis focus--no change. Evaluated contamination--it's ok for now. Collimation--very good, no change. Apollo--checked out fine. TCC--Russet and Russell worked on the gcam instrument block and a few other bugs. Pointing was excellent, so we opted not to get the mirror pollenated. Took spec darks all night. Still unhappy. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:40 dcamera 394( 955) 104 72 15.7 17.9 17.5 17.0 16.0 -- 1.31 19:55 NA2gdr 1971(23971) 104 76 15.4 17.6 17.3 16.7 16.1 R 0.90 22:13 dcamera 217( 676) 96 76 15.8 15.9 16.3 15.6 15.5 -- 0.94 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 72 24 10 265 (W) 618 mstly clr none 17:00 71 24 20 267 (W) 739 mstly clr none 18:00 70 19 17 267 (W) 450 mstly clr none 19:00 68 18 19 260 (W) 554 mstly clr none 20:00 64 14 13 257 (WSW) 431 clear none 21:00 61 13 10 262 (W) 424 clear none 22:00 63 8 11 258 (WSW) 321 clear none 23:00 60 10 9 239 (WSW) 329 clear none 00:00 60 9 10 227 (SW) 321 clear none 01:00 61 11 9 265 (W) 369 clear none 02:00 62 13 12 291 (WNW) 395 clear none 03:00 60 13 11 270 (W) 399 clear none 04:00 60 14 13 267 (W) 342 clear none 05:00 59 14 8 283 (WNW) 353 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
