The sky began to improve after 2:30 local time, but humidity was borderline. Given our task list, I didn't think it was worth opening for less than photometric weather. But when it was clear for a while and the humidity appeared stable, I tried opening to get some throughput standards. As soon as I did, the clouds reappeared and the humidity spiked. I didn't even have time to get the telescope properly focused before I had to close due to high humidity. While the dome was closed, I adjusted the spectrograph focus on DIS, and I took lots of object images with Tspec, which remained in a happy state for many hours. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 46 40 17 116 (ESE) 617 cloudy lt rain 17:00 44 38 22 169 (S) 648 cloudy none 18:00 43 39 9 75 (ENE) 537 cloudy none 19:00 46 37 15 137 (SE) 774 cloudy lt rain 20:00 44 41 7 335 (NNW) 943 cloudy lt rain 21:00 46 39 6 278 (W) 854 cloudy rain 22:00 44 41 9 260 (W) 885 cloudy rain 23:00 44 41 10 263 (W) 851 cloudy rain 00:00 41 41 19 281 (W) 26111 cloudy rain 01:00 39 37 7 241 (WSW) 762 cloudy rain 02:00 41 36 13 273 (W) 879 ptly cldy lt rain 03:00 41 35 15 300 (WNW) 899 clear none 04:00 39 36 17 313 (NW) 686 ptly cldy humid Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
