The first program was able to get half their desired targets. The second program also struggled initially, but then wind shifted, clouds cleared, dust and humidity rose. When the telescope cooling caught up with the air temperature, we had to close. Weather improved by 2:20, and we opened again to moderate seeing and calm conditions. No problems the remainder of the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 20:35 dcamera 158( 266) 188 80 6.6 9.0 9.2 8.9 7.1 - 1.65 21:25 ecamera 308( -728) 178 61 5.6 7.1 7.4 6.8 5.6 Clear 2.60 02:22 ecamera 383( -689) 190 21 6.5 5.1 5.8 5.4 6.1 ND3 2.40 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 52 25 1 187 (S) 601 ptly cldy none 17:00 50 24 9 172 (S) 663 ptly cldy none 18:00 50 26 4 201 (SSW) 726 mstly cldy none 19:00 47 28 11 88 (E) 732 mstly cldy none 20:00 45 30 11 93 (E) 833 mstly cldy none 21:00 43 30 12 88 (E) 765 mstly cldy none 22:00 41 35 17 85 (E) 1571 ptly cldy none 23:00 39 36 18 88 (E) 3501 ptly cldy humid 00:00 40 36 16 88 (E) 3828 clear humid 01:00 39 36 16 74 (ENE) 2347 clear humid 02:00 40 33 14 83 (E) 1852 clear humid 03:00 43 22 17 126 (SE) 1640 mstly clr none 04:00 42 24 18 127 (SE) 1442 mstly clr none 05:00 44 30 19 139 (SE) 1825 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
