When I went to prep the telescope to open (set instrument) I encounted an error with the Secondary mirror. Similiar to the other night, this time when switching to the echelle. I called Russet to re-home things. Russet recommeded slewing the telescope first before doing a set inst to help the actuators, in case of failure. We had clouds re-forming to our west and move over us by 02:00. We finally opened around 03:00. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:15 ecamera 356( -643) 153 56 7.6 7.7 8.1 7.9 7.4 ND1 0.83 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 27 245 (WSW) 876 mstly cldy none 17:00 23 238 (WSW) 1136 mstly cldy none 18:00 23 263 (W) 992 mstly cldy none 19:00 19 264 (W) 1023 mstly cldy none 20:00 19 259 (W) 802 cloudy none 21:00 17 272 (W) 1149 cloudy none 22:00 15 274 (W) 915 cloudy none 23:00 14 266 (W) 848 cloudy none 00:00 20 258 (WSW) 721 cloudy none 01:00 20 263 (W) 745 ptly cldy none 02:00 22 262 (W) 753 cloudy none 03:00 19 261 (W) 719 mstly clr none 04:00 13 267 (W) 793 ptly cldy none 05:00 13 265 (W) 893 ptly cldy none 06:00 16 261 (W) 1004 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
