When the clouds cleared the radar was still ominous but based on the pattern I expected it to dissipate so I took a chance, and we were able to remain open for the rest of the night. There were a few cloud patches but we never had to stop observing. The Agile guider had some trouble due to software changes made for the sake of the DIS slitviewer. Fritz reverted the software and after that the Agile guider worked well. No observing time was lost to this problem. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:35 dcamera 209( 290) 54 51 7.2 8.2 8.3 8.3 7.2 - 1.18 01:34 AGILE 300(-1670) 14 31 7.5 7.5 7.8 7.4 7.1 BG40 1.29 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 54 19 19 291 (WNW) 1218 mstly cldy none 17:00 55 19 19 253 (WSW) 1366 mstly cldy lt rain 18:00 49 21 20 255 (WSW) 1673 mstly cldy none 19:00 48 20 7 228 (SW) 1644 mstly cldy none 20:00 47 19 10 191 (S) 1496 mstly cldy lt rain 21:00 47 18 12 195 (SSW) 1384 mstly cldy lt rain 22:00 47 18 4 244 (WSW) 1381 ptly cldy none 23:00 47 17 10 204 (SSW) 1384 ptly cldy none 00:00 46 16 10 207 (SSW) 1386 mstly clr none 01:00 44 16 5 259 (W) 1357 clear none 02:00 46 17 6 250 (WSW) 1426 ptly cldy none 03:00 44 18 0 357 (N) 1324 ptly cldy none 04:00 44 18 7 350 (N) 1225 clear none 05:00 42 18 2 309 (NW) 1047 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
