We were chasing falling temperatures all night, and never found a good equilibrium. Had one wave of clouds that didn't cause any trouble, and the cold front hit us very early int he morning. Overall a smooth night. The ecam froze up silently once during observing, but I was able to recover it with no time lost and the star had not drifted. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:33 ecamera 337( -557) 15 77 10.0 10.0 9.3 9.6 8.0 Clear 0.71 20:42 dcamera 335( 356) -84 59 10.0 7.2 7.6 7.1 6.8 -- 0.94 23:17 dcamera 367( 331) 78 50 10.0 5.8 6.5 5.9 5.4 -- 1.30 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 11 -8 9 256 (WSW) 188 clear none 17:00 10 -7 10 262 (W) 304 clear none 18:00 7 -8 6 261 (W) 241 clear none 19:00 8 -9 11 235 (SW) 245 clear none 20:00 7 -9 9 227 (SW) 214 clear none 21:00 7 -9 16 235 (SW) 237 clear none 22:00 7 -11 17 254 (WSW) 215 clear none 23:00 6 -13 16 266 (W) 118 clear none 00:00 5 -11 15 282 (WNW) 178 clear none 01:00 5 -11 13 314 (NW) 248 mstly clr none 02:00 6 -12 14 302 (WNW) 119 clear none 03:00 4 -10 10 314 (NW) 185 clear none 04:00 4 -11 2 339 (NNW) 175 clear none 05:00 4 -11 13 42 (NE) 167 clear none 06:00 1 -10 23 74 (ENE) 211 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
