We were not able to open tonight due to blowing snow from high winds. ARCTIC biases looked normal but when AD02 took flats the exposures were saturated. We checked that no other lights were on, only the dim quartz and checked the position of the filters. Eventually we found that the issue was due to the shutter not closing. We started the icc twice and the exposures were all 0. We tried power cycling and, while the chip did read out properly, the shutter continued to not close. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 23 15 16 24 (NNE) 124 clear none 17:00 24 14 4 337 (NNW) 93 clear none 18:00 27 10 15 352 (N) 135 clear none 19:00 28 9 14 32 (NNE) 161 clear none 20:00 28 9 21 350 (N) 232 clear none 21:00 28 9 15 351 (N) 123 clear none 22:00 30 9 4 13 (NNE) 137 clear none 23:00 29 9 12 344 (NNW) 72 clear none 00:00 31 10 17 327 (NNW) 50 clear none 01:00 31 14 15 333 (NNW) 31 clear none 02:00 33 16 12 306 (NW) 22 clear none 03:00 35 14 9 270 (W) 14 clear none 04:00 35 12 12 263 (W) 40 clear none 05:00 34 6 16 263 (W) 46 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
