In fact, it was so dense it saturated the particle counter for a while, which I have only seen before in heavy smoke. The backup outside dewpoint sensor also went wonky (the first one has been out of service for about a week). Sloan's dewpoint sensor was working and it, together with the particle counter, told us when the humidity dropped. AFter that the sky was clear and the seeing was moderate. The observer ran out of targets and backup targets while there was still some time left to go before twilight. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:56 dcamera 477( 140) 156 67 3.4 3.3 4.4 3.0 2.9 - 1.37 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 11 265 (W) 736 mstly cldy humid 17:00 8 239 (WSW) 778 mstly cldy none 18:00 13 231 (SW) 146490 cloudy fog 19:00 12 237 (WSW) 467337 cloudy fog 20:00 9 244 (WSW) 436336 cloudy fog 21:00 8 225 (SW) 279420 cloudy fog 22:00 6 251 (WSW) 216746 cloudy fog 23:00 8 258 (WSW) 125381 cloudy fog 00:00 7 262 (W) 83976 cloudy fog 01:00 12 271 (W) 259 clear none 02:00 17 290 (WNW) 302 clear none 03:00 15 280 (W) 506 clear none 04:00 20 299 (WNW) 526 clear none 05:00 13 283 (WNW) 529 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
