Took 1500 darks. GIFS is showing some strange structure in its biases. It first shows up after GIFs was warmed two weeks ago. Russet says this is due to some electronic pickup noise. SPICAM took biases during instrument checkout but when JH04 tried to take biases before their program started, the biases would not read out and produced 0 byt files. The problem was resolved by physically restarting SPICAM via the toggle switch and restarting the ICC. This problem may have been due to me hitting the umbilical of SPICAM when I moved GIFS out of the way when mounting DIS. ARCSAT became non-responsive and I had to leave the 3.5m to do an emergency close before the Sun rose too high. I was unable to completely fill GIFS as the dewar ran out as ARCSAT crashed. An email was sent asking for the day staff to change the dewar and fill GIFS. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- JH04 S I/H 01:05 01:13 Readout failure, reset inst ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:25 dcamera 429( 410) 47 70 3.4 9.5 9.5 9.4 8.9 - 0.99 01:41 SPIcam 494( 632) -61 52 3.4 9.4 9.9 9.5 9.7 MSSSO R 1.00 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 11 4 (N) 310 clear none 17:00 11 2 (N) 385 clear none 18:00 7 19 (NNE) 342 clear none 19:00 16 2 (N) 322 clear none 20:00 16 23 (NNE) 340 clear none 21:00 3 356 (N) 373 clear none 22:00 10 12 (NNE) 365 clear none 23:00 10 358 (N) 361 clear none 00:00 20 6 (N) 322 clear none 01:00 5 66 (ENE) 276 clear none 02:00 5 304 (NW) 193 clear none 03:00 11 53 (NE) 175 clear none 04:00 11 358 (N) 238 clear none 05:00 9 358 (N) 292 clear none 06:00 9 354 (N) 100 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
