UVa (Mike S.) recommended rebooting the computer. Fritz logged in to take care of it. TSPEC still not happy. Leach controller power cycled, no dice either. Took a bunch of 12s darks. images fixed themselves at frame 111. Note for obs specs/engineers, imstat shows a MAX value around 43K for the sky and is consistent with good images. Bad image values jump all over the place. This is with darks and the instrument unmounted/cover on. Mode, Midpoint, Mean, and Min also stablize to low values with good images. Maybe a quick way to determine when the chip goes bad/good. I think ARCTIC is disconnected from the hub, checkout bias failed. arctic not connected. The startNubs fails as well. Possible shutter issue with NA2 guider. I had one frame (5s) that looked under exposed, see guider image 20. Only one frame and not frequent, but may get worse. It wasn't that cold outside, 12.5C. Tspec images are working at the moment. Images 111-434 were good. For some reason the sound on obs1 stopped working around 02:30 Internet connectivity problems around 21:35ish. User was disconnected from TUI and couldn't log back in. My other TUI observers also got booted as well and I was having connectivity problems going out via the web as well. No further complaints about TSPEC once it started working. No problems with 3.5m 2nd half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:33 SPIcam 414( 795) -18 35 12.4 13.6 13.7 13.4 12.9 sdss r 1.44 19:36 NA2gdr 714(30714) -18 35 12.6 13.5 13.7 13.3 13.0 R 1.26 20:58 tcamera 567( 935) -13 64 13.2 13.0 13.5 13.1 13.0 Ks 1.09 01:20 AGILE 467(-1469) -20 57 12.0 11.8 12.4 11.9 11.8 BG40 0.94 03:49 AGILE 492(-1464) 16 52 11.7 11.3 11.9 11.4 11.3 BG40 1.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 56 36 12 322 (NW) 127 clear none 17:00 57 37 5 334 (NNW) 126 clear none 18:00 56 36 9 322 (NW) 113 clear none 19:00 56 36 2 339 (NNW) 125 clear none 20:00 56 37 15 311 (NW) 113 clear none 21:00 55 39 15 305 (NW) 139 clear none 22:00 56 38 16 297 (WNW) 114 clear none 23:00 55 38 16 303 (WNW) 102 clear none 00:00 54 38 3 260 (W) 137 clear none 01:00 54 36 7 9 (N) 145 clear none 02:00 54 30 12 3 (N) 159 clear none 03:00 53 30 17 12 (NNE) 190 clear none 04:00 53 32 15 23 (NNE) 185 clear none 05:00 54 31 19 15 (NNE) 138 clear none 06:00 57 21 19 347 (NNW) 111 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
