Zeroed the rotator, even though I eneded up not doing a pointing model. We spent all of our engineering time on ARCTIC. Joe spent some time fighting with the filter wheel code, and then we settled for some throughput stars in 657/3. Observed BD28, PG2213, PG2331, PG2336, and PG0231. Note--the abort button is still a bad idea. Also, we believe that the focus direction is the same as tspec, or possibly follows the alt/az directions on the focal plane. Followed this up with a short pointing model, results emailed out. Not implemented. Triplespec started out corrupt, but fixed itself during the night. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 18:02 ecamera 423( -180) 105 64 15.5 18.5 18.4 17.9 17.2 ND2 1.34 20:49 arctic 130( 826) -44 35 15.9 15.8 16.2 15.6 15.6 657/3 0.99 22:10 guider 459( 885) 180 60 15.9 15.1 15.7 15.0 14.8 Red ND2 0.86 23:12 SPIcam 459( 923) -29 35 15.7 15.2 15.7 15.3 15.3 SDSS r 0.85 01:21 NICFPS 459( 1231) 316 46 14.9 14.7 15.2 14.7 14.7 MK-Ks 0.80 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp C Dewp C MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 70 35 8 233 (SW) 352 clear none 17:00 71 35 11 265 (W) 380 clear none 18:00 66 33 7 258 (WSW) 449 clear none 19:00 61 33 8 235 (SW) 490 clear none 20:00 60 32 7 187 (S) 879 clear none 21:00 59 32 9 187 (S) 1101 clear none 22:00 61 32 6 192 (SSW) 912 clear none 23:00 60 33 9 190 (S) 803 clear none 00:00 60 33 7 202 (SSW) 704 clear none 01:00 60 33 7 201 (SSW) 907 clear none 02:00 59 35 13 186 (S) 557 clear none 03:00 59 36 14 189 (S) 468 clear none 04:00 59 35 13 202 (SSW) 359 clear none 05:00 58 36 10 182 (S) 362 clear none 06:00 57 37 12 183 (S) 341 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
