Snow program running most of the day. At the start of the night things looked pretty bleak, but as time went on, sky cleared and wind/snow program running roof cleared. Unfortunately humidity was still over limit, so waited on that status to change. Since I didn't have any outside temp readings from the old sensors, I used the new optidew sensors to watch humidity tonight. I checked the enclosure roof at 20:30 and it was clear. Humidity was still too high to open though. Humidity started to slowly drop starting around 23:00 and finally was below the limit at around 00:30. We opened at 00:45 when my observer finished their cals and we had stayed below the humidity limit for a few minutes. Cloudcam lid was frozen on the rubber seal tonight. I didn't want to damage it so I left the lid on (no cloudcam). It was clear while we were open anyhow. My observer superceded a running slew with a new one. It overshot the rotator, and then rotated back to the correct position. Dome parked due south to remove any remaining ice/snow that may be on the roof during the daytime. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 00:58 dcamera 269( -580) 125 69 4.1 -9.8 -6.4 -9.8 -10.1 -- 1.30 02:57 dcamera 351( -493) 232 64 4.1 -9.7 -9.1 -9.6 -9.6 -- 1.50 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 20 70 (ENE) 252 cloudy humid 17:00 23 68 (ENE) 143 cloudy humid 18:00 21 68 (ENE) 32 ptly cldy humid 19:00 21 67 (ENE) 22 mstly clr humid 20:00 18 74 (ENE) 29 mstly clr humid 21:00 11 46 (NE) 47 mstly clr humid 22:00 5 351 (N) 51 clear humid 23:00 6 359 (N) 94 clear humid 00:00 11 4 (N) 79 clear humid 01:00 12 8 (N) 81 clear none 02:00 19 20 (NNE) 162 clear none 03:00 20 29 (NNE) 198 clear none 04:00 21 8 (N) 194 clear none 05:00 13 11 (N) 881 clear none 06:00 21 19 (NNE) 238 clear none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
