It looked like a clearing trend around 22:00 and when I opened it looked clear, until I came back down into the control room and clouds had moved in. I managed to get TSPEC focused and did the quick imcenter tests. I then handed the telescope over to my observer, went outside, and decided it prudent to close again. Clouds moving in from the N/NE where we are radar blind and precip in that direction as well. We opened again around 01:00 and switched to the Echelle. We found multiple star images which was due to condensation on the ecam. I cleaned the condensation off. This took about 20 mins. Russet ran some echtilt tests. Handed the telescope over UC01 around 02:00 ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- EN02 G I/H 01:20 01:40 Condensation on front of CCD window ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 02:00 ecamera 372 244 60 ND2 1.3 04:42 ecamera 424 204 61 ND4 1.0 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 60 38 14 77 (ENE) 285 mstly cldy none 17:00 64 48 1 1 (N) 308 cloudy none 18:00 60 47 14 357 (N) 517 cloudy none 19:00 58 40 26 24 (NNE) 121 cloudy none 20:00 63 34 7 302 (WNW) 200 ptly cldy none 21:00 66 30 4 92 (E) 201 mstly clr none 22:00 62 36 14 74 (ENE) 195 cloudy none 23:00 62 35 5 117 (ESE) 171 cloudy none 00:00 60 39 12 74 (ENE) 196 mstly cldy none 01:00 56 45 11 85 (E) 287 ptly cldy none 02:00 53 48 14 79 (E) 555 ptly cldy none 03:00 53 48 13 80 (E) 557 cloudy lt rain 04:00 57 46 10 329 (NNW) 334 mstly cldy none 05:00 57 44 7 339 (NNW) 249 mstly clr none 06:00 58 47 4 331 (NNW) 462 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
