Seeing was good during first half but less good second half. The gcamera needed to be power cycled again today; it seems this is occurring more frequently. There was also one incident of nasty oscillations on the altitude axis in the middle of a slew. The altitude seemed fine after being re-initialized, so the time lost was really just for me to check things out and document what had happened. The scheduled second half observer didn't send a setup email or log in, and there was no phone number in the proposal. Since the first half observer was also from Princeton. I let them continue observing longer, and they found me another Princeton observer who was awake and available to make use of second half. ------- FAILURE LOG ------- PROG INST FAILURE MODE TIME (SEDFNVOG) TI/SHU START FINISH DESCRIPTION ---------------------------------------------------------------------- PU05 S T/H 23:39 23:45 alt overcurrent ---------------- FOCUS LOG --------------- Time Instrument Focus Az El Temp Strc Prim Sec Air filt FWHM -------------------------------------------------------------------------- 19:32 dcamera 555( 1393) 35 81 20.6 23.4 22.6 23.9 21.0 - 1.17 20:24 dcamera 566( 1322) -120 60 20.9 21.5 21.6 21.4 20.4 - 1.19 22:00 SPIcam 507( 1354) -47 47 20.1 20.1 20.5 19.7 19.7 r 0.82 01:02 dcamera 488( 1003) 189 62 16.6 16.9 17.2 16.4 16.4 - 1.78 ------------- WEATHER LOG ---------------- Wind Precip.or Time Temp F Dewp F MPH Direction Dust Sky Conditions ------------------------------------------------------------------ 16:00 78 37 16 262 (W) 352 mstly clr none 17:00 79 37 14 261 (W) 275 mstly clr none 18:00 80 37 15 274 (W) 275 mstly clr none 19:00 73 33 9 246 (WSW) 334 mstly clr none 20:00 69 28 3 185 (S) 326 mstly clr none 21:00 69 29 11 181 (S) 468 mstly clr none 22:00 69 28 8 182 (S) 522 mstly clr none 23:00 68 27 8 181 (S) 677 mstly clr none 00:00 66 26 9 113 (ESE) 739 mstly clr none 01:00 61 31 9 128 (SE) 1645 mstly clr none 02:00 62 29 11 148 (SSE) 1414 mstly clr none 03:00 64 30 16 145 (SE) 1333 mstly clr none 04:00 66 24 15 179 (S) 1042 mstly clr none 05:00 66 25 12 167 (SSE) 1114 mstly clr none Note: the wind was coming from the azimuth listed.
